OUR STORY

Our story begins in 1980 when we bought Riviera Restaurant, then located in an 800 square foot storefront at 19 North Vail in Arlington Heights. With 3 tables and 2 counters, the restaurant seated only 20 people.

Opening a restaurant was not a stretch for either of us. By the age of 23, Bobby already had 10 years experience in the restaurant business, and Andrea had been doing accounting work for numerous Chicagoland restaurants. Andrea also had the business in her blood. Her parents were the owners of the old S&L restaurant in Chicago for many years and had over 30 years experience in the business.

In 1991, we moved to our current location on Campbell to accommodate a growing number of customers. Over 3,000 square feet, the restaurant now seats 85. Our menu expanded over the years as well.

After 26 years of serving our loyal customers at Riviera , we decided to accept an offer and sold the business in 2006. The timing was right for us as we felt we needed a break after all the years and long hours of hard work. Despite making some changes, the new owners were unfortunately unable to thrive. Riviera's doors closed after only seven months.

We had enjoyed our time off but couldn't resist the opportunity to get back to work and see our regular group of customers that we had grown to know and love. On April 23, 2007 we opened for business with a renewed energy, new menu items and new hours.
